The Domestic University Counselling Unit at TED Üsküdar College is dedicated to guiding students through a process of self-discovery, enabling them to identify and select university programs and departments that align optimally with their individual interests, aptitudes, and core values. In the Preparatory Grade, students engage in targeted awareness initiatives designed to foster vocational understanding. Commencing in the 9th grade, a systematic introduction to diverse professional fields is implemented, and opportunities are facilitated for students to interact directly with subject matter experts in professions of interest, thereby addressing their specific inquiries. Furthermore, students are actively supported in participating in initiatives such as “Career Day,” “University Fair,” “Vocational Shadowing Program,” and “University Introduction Workshops,” all designed to cultivate informed awareness within their respective areas of academic inclination. For students in the 9th and 10th grades, informational sessions are conducted to elucidate the correlation between the content and question formats of the YKS/TYT (Higher Education Institutions Examination/Basic Proficiency Test).

Students receive comprehensive guidance regarding the YKS (TYT-AYT) domestic university placement system, including informed course selection based on their academic aspirations and the specific characteristics of the relevant examinations. The curriculum also incorporates TYT-AYT practice examinations and detailed explanations underscoring the significance of the secondary education achievement score as an integral component of the overall evaluation. Moreover, students are provided with information pertaining to advanced academic pathways at the university level, such as double major programs, minor specializations, and lateral transfer options, to facilitate their ongoing career planning. To enhance their experiential learning, students are informed about and facilitated in their participation in summer schools, winter schools, webinars, and workshops organized by various universities.

Recognizing that effective career planning for domestic universities is a comprehensive and continuous process extending from the Preparatory Grade through the culmination of the 12th grade, our institution provides dedicated support initiatives for our students throughout this entire period. Upon the release of the YKS results, our 12th-grade students benefit from personalized “Preference Counselling” services, ensuring a successful transition to their desired higher education programs, underpinned by the distinct advantages associated with being a TED student. Our commitment extends beyond graduation through a dedicated alumni tracking system, fostering continued engagement and support for our former students.
